IRC via WebBrowser

The trend nowadays is to propose all kind of traditional computer software in online equivalents. Gmail, Google Docs, Google Reader (to name a few) are now part of my everyday browsing life. The only thing which was missing to me until now was an IRC client on the same model (previously I had to ssh to a distant box and connect from there which is, IMHO, less flexible).

Well, some times ago I found out Mibbit, a sweet ajax-ified IRC client which let you connect to any network you want, directly from your webbrowser. Even though it’s still marked as Beta (like every other web 2.0 thingies), it’s pretty stable and good for its purpose. Now I can IRC freely from the Eee without too much pain :) .
